Description:

SYNKOLA was established in 1990 as Contract research laboratory, and it is still working in custom synthesis and Fine chemical intermediates, and has been active from 1.1.1991 till now. Staff consists of 14 PhD chemists with long time international experience in the area of biologically active substances and chemical specialties. They are authors of more than 200 scientific publications and more than 150 patents; many of them have been realized in technical praxis. Each member has PhD. degree and postdoctoral fellowship at prominent foreign universities and institutes – especially in Switzerland (ETH Zurich), Canada, USA, and Sweden. SYNKOLA employs specialists, who are also experienced in projecting and introducing new technologies into technical praxis. SYNKOLA is located within the Comenius University campus and takes advantages of following analytic equipment GC-MS, 300MHz NMR, FT-IR. Laboratories are equipped with Parr autoclave and all other necessary equipment for each kind of organic synthesis. There are available also equipment with microwave radiation. SYNKOLA cooperates with renowned life science companies in Europe in the field of phytopharmaceutics and medicinal chemistry. Staff (has large experiences in more steps synthetic procedures in heterocyclic chemistry and wants to be active also in synthesis of chiral active substances.
The group that will participate to the project in Synkola will be lead by led by Dr. Julius Durmis
In the contest of CATAFLU.OR consortium SYNKOLA  will be working in the WP1 and WP7 workpackages.
