WORKPLAN
Workpackage 2
WP2 Organocatalytic multicomponent synthesis of structurally diverse cyclohexanes
WP LEADER UNIVERSITAET ZU KOELN
Objectives
New catalyzed cycloaddition will be studied before with achiral Brønsted acids, than with chiral Brønsted acids obtained by binaphtol molecules.
Description of work
The work will involve standard organic synthetic techniques by a single postdoctoral co-worker. We propose the use of multicomponent synthesis methodology to a new series of substrates that enable the facile preparation of potential drug candidates. The basic work will be devided in three task.
Task 1: cycloaddition reactions. New cycloaddition reaction will be studied and evaluated for the preparation of cyclohexene derivatives.
Task 2: Chiral phosphoric acid. Enantioselective catalyzed organocatalytic cycloadditions will be studied with chiral phosphoric acids, trying to catalyzed these new cycloaddition with chiral organocatalytic approach. Finally, the organocatalytic enantioselective methodology developed will be applied to the generation of first, key intermediates for neuraminidase inhibitors, then a general synthesis of active compounds will be studied, with all information obtained by WP1 and WP6.
Deliverables
A report (D6(1)), at month 18, will be provided detailing with the characterization and results obtained in the synthesis of the new derivatives. Another report (D6(2))will be available at month 36, concerning all the results obtained in this workpackage. Details of the journal publications realised and planned from workpackages. Aspect of this driveable will be presented in the public domain via the web interface and the scientific part of the project symposia (D16)
