WP3 New oseltamivir derivatives

Objectives
We will focus our attention on the development of the new derivatives. Four different groups will be working towards the action to provide for the testing new derivatives prepared through organocatalytic reaction. The model compounds obtained for the oseltamivir will be used for studying the chemistry necessary in order to prepare the derivatives. This WP3 will be in strict contact with the other WP1, WP2 and WP6.
Description of work
The work will involve standard organic synthetic techniques by a single postdoctoral co-worker Through the in silico approach (WP6) we can gain important information in order to finalize and direct the synthesis. With the best synthetic methodology developed in the CATAFLU.OR consortium, different groups will be actiong towards the synthesis of new inhibitors. The work will be divided in different tasks:
Task 1: synthesis of the new derivatives 38-41.
Task 2: Synthesis of the new derivatives 42-44.
Task 3: synthesis of the new derivatives 45-48. The preparation of the derivatives will be decided within the consortium, and all the different groups indicated will be involved. The aim is to prepare through the new chemistry. The action of produce new organocatalytic domino reactions will be finalized in working towards very defined structure, in order to prepare them for testing conduced in China (WP5). With the designed new organocatalytic domino reaction and in collaboration with the other partners we will design the synthesis of the new derivatives and we will optimise the synthetic steps necessary.
Deliverables
Two reports (D7, D8), at months 24 and 36, will be provided detailing all compounds prepared, and all the chemistry used for producing them. Aspect of this deliverable will be presented in the public domain via the web interface and the scientific part of the project symposia (D16).
